2025 - 10 - 22 /// Shesmadefromsuede + Coup D'etat release show

October 22, 2025 by David Norman

Mississippi’s Shesmadefromsuede released their first and last album on Tomb Tree and it’s a fucking banger. 5 tracks of screamo/metallic hardcore bliss for fans of Mondrary, Blind Girls, and Grimlitter. Tapes /78 but we sold about half the first day!

Friday is the cd release show for the new Coup D’etat EP where we’ll have copies in hand as well as the ZBR distro. This is also the A Record Dawn/Mourn Recif cd release! So much yummy.

Adobe Homes releases their new 12”LP ‘Años’ November 10th via Zegema Beach and Dog Knights. We did 300 copies with an extra surprise in the packaging, stay tuned for more info, but you can jam a song from the album below!

Click here for the full review!

This Noise Is Ours reviewed the new Nuvolascura album ‘How This All Ends’, which we’ve got like 7 copies left of the OG cd press, as the new/upcoming press are in regular jewel cases so this is the last of the DVD-style case. Jam/buy below or go to the review by clicking on this text or the pic above.

A heads up to all that ordered the Usurp Synapse 2 x 12” and/or cd, here’s the current update:
- 90% of the US store orders have gone out for the 2 x 12”
- bandcamp and Canada/International orders for the 2 x 12” won’t be going out until I get the box from the US, which should be here by the end of Oct, with all copies being out during the first week of November
- no US cd orders have gone out as the cds arrive in the US tomorrow
- all non-US cd orders have gone out!

Thanks for your patience on this, there are literally hundreds of orders and lots of moving parts (including family illness), but we should meet the deadline as we said during the pre-order that they’d ship early/mid-November. Please pick up a copy if you haven’t already! If we do a 2nd run they won’t be with the crazy laser-cut jackets so pick up this version while you can, or pay the dreaded reseller price!

CanaDave co-hosted the always awesome Operation X-Ray radio show! There are three premieres (two of them screamo) and a lotta ridiculous jams in this episode. Thanks so much to Andre for having me!

Oh shiiiiit there are some ZBR Fest video stragglers, so here’s Salvinorin-A and Punxsatuawney at our 2025 fest! There are a handful more videos to post…so until next time!

Holy shit how is there a Boneflower cassette left?!?! That’s right, today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to ‘A(r)mour)’, arguably their strongest album to date (but that new one is pretty sick too). Please take this off my hands (it’s in the bandcamp store embedded below).

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: MOURIR DEMAIN = A new project from Montreal that has some all-stars in it! Wicked emo-violence debut and it’s PWYC on Bandcamp.

2025 - 10 - 16 /// Mau 10"s round #2 + Usurp Synapse out!

October 16, 2025 by David Norman

We got a restock of another 50 Mau 10”s for their debut EP complete with sick etched b-side. Don’t wait too long on these as we moved our first 50 in 36 hours. U.S. store copies and Canada/International store copies are linked at the bottom of each release on Bandcamp. You can also snag one on our bandcamp but we gotta charge more cuz they take a buncha fees from us that these two stores don’t.

Usurp Synape was released back on Monday, which is when US Dave released this killer trailer for the record and jacket to give you a better idea of just how fucking epic this shit is. If we sell out and repress we won’t be doing the laser-cut thing again, so that’s incentive for you to pick up this insane piece of history. All stores linked at the bottom of the embedded bandcamp page below.

Click here for the full premiere post!

Shesmadefromsuede had their first single premiered on This Noise Is Ours. The tapes just arrived and Tomb Tree made 78 for your listening pleasure. This is the screamo/emo-violence/metallic hardcore band’s first and only release, making it hit that much harder. Full release is Monday October 20th!

Inosuke has a new album coming November 3rd titled ‘Allomancer’ (cover above), so to remind you how sick this band is check out their debut 12” below that we put out cuz it rules. Featuring Jason from Locktender and Erik from Lord Snow.

Softseed Music’s next release is the Fainting Dreams album ‘You Can Be Anything’ which releases October 31st, but you can jam the first epic single from Everything Is Noise now. The project is the brainchild of Elle from Athousandangelsandseven and lands on the other end of the spectrum, with this album being a thing of beauty instead of ugly catharsis. Click on the pic above or this text to go there. Jam the song below.

Operation X-Ray had their 200th episode this past Friday and played Usurp Synapse and Lucidity, among other fucking bangers. Yours truly will be co-hosting the next episode!

I used to post something about our final copies of stuff, and after seeing a ton of “last copy” items at my place, I thought I’d revive this segment. I forget what I called this weekly thing, but now it’s just called Last Fucking Copy. This is our Last Fucking Copy of мятеж’s ‘Riot/Mutiny’ aka the final release from this project from CanaDave and Chris from Makara, Jenny Piccolo, Yaphet Kotto, etc. This release will NEVER be made again. Please take this off my hands (it’s in the bandcamp store embedded below).

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: WHANE = This Italian band dropped a wicked new album and you should def check that shit out. We would have released it if we weren’t broke af.

2025 - 09 - 23 /// Mourn Recif x A Recorded Dawn released

September 23, 2025 by David Norman

The Mourn Recif x A Recorded Dawn split (also known around here as the ‘Josh split’) was released yesterday with the cds arriving today! Please take a listen and if you like what you hear snag a copy, as ZBR only has 25! Vancouver Island pinball skramz, baby.

Next up is the Demersal self-titled 12”EP releasing this Friday on Tomb Tree! Pre-orders will be going up, should ship in November.

Click here for the full review!

Mourn Recif got a nice write-up from the always reliable This Noise Is Ours. The band is playing with A Recorded Dawn and Coup D’etat on October 24th in Victoria, making it essentially a triple-ZBR release show! Click on the pic above or this text for the review, jam/buy the EP tapes below.

Nuvolascura continues to embrace all that love they’re getting for a groundbreaking third full length ‘How This All Ends’. Our final copies are up in the stores, get’em or forever hold your peace. That being said, we’ve got another run of cds coming in a jewel case instead of dvd case. Lastly, above is a great interview with the band and below is the album with links and whatnot.

Operation X-Ray ran with a record-tying four band on this episode, including the premiere of “Twelves” by Mourn Recif, a couple of Abandoncy jams, Athousandangelsandseven cuz of dem 7”s, and a new Demersal jam which comes out in full on Friday!!!

The Names Of Our Friends lived up to the hype and tore through their set with abandon. We were lucky enough to snag some 10”s of that beast, too. There’s just a few of the individual band videos from ZBR Fest left. You can access more via our Youtube channel. Snag the last of our 10”s by clicking on this text.

Bok Suna got some love from The Bad Copy, and if you haven’t scoped this phenomenal sophomore album from Seattle/Tacoma’s best kept secret then I’ve gotta say, ya fuckin’ up. Click on the pic above or this text to go to the review. Jam/buy below.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: BACKYARD CAMPING = My boy Mathew from Athousandangelsandseven sent me his high school band. It’s fucking awesome. Check it!

Sinema emocore/metalcore 12”s for ‘After the Flatline’ drop and immediately sell out on April 22nd, followed by the epic first full length from the long-running BC screamo/emo-violence band Emma Goldman on April 28th.

Sutras got their second (of three) song premieres via Everything Is Noise for “Karma to Burn”. Their new six-song EP ‘The Crisis of Existence’ releases in full on April 16th!!! Part Modern Life Is War, part Touche Amore, and part Envy, this thing is powerful in a peaceful sense. Click on the pic above or this text to go to the premiere.

This epic Emma Goldman show is going down tomorrow and CanaDave will be there slingin’ records, including the one and only test press available to the public. Got $50? It’s yours. Also, Mourn Recif is playing and we’re closing with our brand new jam and it goes harder than anything we’ve ever played.

Lord Wrought’s ‘Mortis’ EP releases on Tomb Tree this Tuesday April 8th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST on a small run of 54 gorgeous cassettes. This Vancouver-based hardcore/grind/metalcore/screamo crossover blew me away live so picking up the pressing from Yetzer Hara Records who has moved into a specific straight-edge hardcore pocket after a brief hiatus.

Dead Hour Noise got the This Noise Is Ours treatment in a wicked track-by-track review post. We expect these 12”s in sometime this month so we’ll be posting promos as soon as we have’em, but pre-orders are up now if you can’t wait! Click on the pic above or this text to go to the review.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: BOON = Incredible new stuff from Toronto that I heard only because a member shot it over. Wicked!!!

March 11, 2025 by David Norman

Bloom Dream tour started yesterday! And blimey we’ve even got another batch of 100 (we’ll have 50, and 50 for the band) including swirls are now live! Pics above, tour poster below, jam/buy under that.

Did we actually order the correct amount of Febuary stock? Cuz we still got like 30 copies left! There’s very little chance these last the week as we keep selling a few every hour so act asap or forever hold your peace. Places to order:
U.S.A. store
Canada/International
Bandcamp (these are the most expensive so try to buy from the correct store above)

Click here for the full premiere!

Ashen Hands from Italy have a new EP coming out Tuesday March 12th on Tomb Tree! I’m telling you this thing is fucking amazing and gonna blow you outta the water. Akin to Joshua Fit For Battle, Lucidity, and Danse Macabre, ‘Ashen Hands’ knocked my goddamn dentures right outta my mouth…and I don’t even own dentures!!! Check out the first and only single over at Not Just A Phase now by clicking on the pic above or this text. Tapes won’t be in hand till late March so we’ll have those up for pre-order on Tuesday.

These should be in hand early April and shipping mid-late April at the latest. Vinyl will /250, burgundy w/orange splatter. This is co-released with The Ghost Is Clear Records.

Everything Remade has vocalist Jeremy Jones from Braininavat on their podcast last week. A great listen, plus we gotz some tapes left so snaggy mcdougle below!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: WORN THROUGH = Edie from Coma Regalia and Middle Man Records released this new album with Aster Scott on vocals. Very sick stuff!
