The new Gravess EP ‘losing everything that makes life beautiful’ is out! Only 100 copies were made and we’ve got 30 spread across our three stores. This is a phenomenal EP with some seriously killer tracks. Be sure to check it out and snag one if interested, as I don’t expect them to be around for long!

Coup D’état has a new lyrical music video for “The Cost of Playing It Cool” and it’s dope! Speaking of dope their new EP is just that! Inferior at foosball but top-notch Vancouver Island skramz.

This is a friendly reminder that US out of stock distro is still available in the Canada store, and once shipping is converted the price is within a few dollars of the US store shipping so if you are being hesitant…don’t be! This is the last reminder about the Mourn Recif show coming up this Saturday as it’s our first in nearly 3 months and likely our last show until we get to play ZBR Fest 2026 (oopsie, spoiler!). We’ll have tapes and cds but are definitely almost out of some of the tape variants. Check out a video of a new song below (at the same venue this new show is at!) as we’re playing almost all new material and it’s much heavier than our old stuff.

Operation X-Ray did an extensive roundup of shoegaze releases from the year and two Softseed bands made the cut including Mieke (12”s at the plant) and Bok Suna (12”s linked below).

Here’s an unreal follow up to the Japanese emo-violence foursome KOMUSŌ’s debut cassette EP, this time housing three songs of much chiller, post-rock and post-hardcore vibes. You’ve got a wicked instrumental jam, a sung lullaby and then a screamy, solo-driven closer. Some of the jammiest and sickest stuff we’ve heard in ages. Featuring members of: Cape Light, 5000, No Omega, Careless, etc.

On Monday January 12th the debut Sear 12” ‘O Merciful’ releases on Tomb Tree. Following up on their stellar debut EP featuring members of To Forget, their mixture of screamo, black metal, and post hardcore is fantastic. Rosemary Nods Upon The Grave got a sick music video done for “Every river will meet the sea” from the Heaven Through Violence split 7”. Aight friends, we’re Facebook now so you should def be checking this news page for all important updates. I post at least once a week, sometimes up to three times depending on what’s going on. We’re also on Instagram (@zegema_beach) and BluSky (Zegema Beach Records).

With the final CanaDave’s SkramzCave sales ending, the unsold stuff has been imported into their proper homes at regular prices (12” distro, 7” distro, tapes distro, and cds distro) as well as a bunch of the stuff at sale prices going directly into the “Steals” section. Take a gander cuz everything should be alphabetically organized :)

Last little bit of news is the Zampler #26 compilation ‘A Stroll Down Washout Lane’ which we ran through the 30 cds extremely quickly, so I’ll probably do another small run for the summer Zampler too. Oh good lord why is this still in stock? Back in the early ZBR days we released this wicked split for Endamori and Big Machine. Softseed Music released the Magana double EP cassette for ‘Bad News’ and ‘Golden Tongue’ yesterday so if you like your music breathtakingly gorgeous and a bit quirky, this is for you. Only 26 copies were made with less than 20 going up for sale. For fans of Squirrel Flower, Avery Friedman, Cat Power, etc.

As stated above Zampler #26 comes out tomorrow the 31st at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. I’m making cds again for this one because the art is just so fucking sick (made by Jackson Schott who did the Terry Green cover for ‘Provisional Living’) and is available to all who make an order between 9am PST on the 31st and 9am PST on January 1st. You’ll find 28 songs including six previously unreleased tracks from the likes of Concealer, Vibora, Gravess, Limbs, and more!

2025 - 11 - 12 /// Adobe Homes released!

Important updates here first, the Usurp Synapse box bound for Canada arrives on Friday so 100% of the those stragglers will be shipped off next week, missing our official deadline by like a week. Not too shabby, I must say.

Next, the US store sells A LOT of mystery items and we realized it was 100% out of stock…well, problem solved! Restocked and includes test presses!!! You can access that sucker by clicking on this text.

We did it! Adobe Homes is out! After a decade of silence the band returns with a new 12-track album that dips between dark interludes and noodley screamo. The packaging on this is amazing and you’ve got to hold one to really grasp how sick the screen-printed covers are.

Hetta’s new release and first full length ‘Acetate’ drops November 21st on Tomb Tree! The music video for their new “Plainclothes Man” is above, and somehow we have two copies left of their debut EP (which is incredible btw) embedded below on the bandcamp page. The new material is crazy wonky, bringing to mind The Locust, Usurp Synapse, and Missouri Executive Order 44.

Another music video, this is the last Twins single and music video for “Presence”. 12” LP full release on November 21st (records probably won’t be in hand yet) but we only got 30 copies for ZBR and we’ve moved more than 20 already! Buy links in the embedded bandcamp below.

Eklektik Rock reviewed the Lucidity x Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow split and gave it high praise. If you like your emo-violence unrelenting or beautiful, this split has you covered. A live studio video of Avery Friedman’s “Finger Painting” was released and you should def check it out. Easily one of my favourites from ‘New Thing’, this Brooklyn-based artist released her phenomenal debut earlier this year and Softseed is the only place to get those sweet, sweet, stupid fancies.
