The new Fainting Dreams EP ‘The Silence of Birds That Rarely Sing’ is out! We already moved a lot of tapes so snag one if it tickles your fancy. The incredible mixture of gorgeous bits and crushing, posty black metal is untouchable but will definitely appease fans of Oathbreaker, Chelsea Wolfe, Shedfromthebody, and Deafheaven.

Vibora has arrived and started shipping, Canada/International orders should start moving mid-April (cuz we gotta send them from the US store to Canada still). US restock of 3 copies per variant, 1st record still in stock.

Carrion Spring are today’s ZBR Fest 2026 Profile Feature! Featuring my good friend Adam and a host of other fantastic people, this Portland, Oregon band has been kicking it for almost two decades and recently released a phenomenal album that was recorded by Kurt Ballou of Converge! There’s a clip of them at the ZBR Fest 2024 above, their new album embedded below, and you can click on this text to get tickets to the fest !!!

Operation X-Ray Dental Office Parking premiere of “Ninja Troll” as well as Concealer, Soastasphrenas, Clout Funeral and Fainting Dreams! Dental Office Parking 3” cds release on April 14th on Tomb Tree, you can scope a music video above!

Dead Internet sent me this live cover of Loftus’ “Next Step, New Boundary” and it slaps. Check it out and then buy the album.

Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes all the way back to the second ZBR release and first one that was in hand. We sold out years abo but I had kept a copy of each variant of every release for a long time, before recently deciding to just keep a single copy. So this used to by mine but now it can be yours! Shall not be repressed. No more are available. It looks amazing. Snag it below or forever hold your peace.

Dagerman and Carrion Spring came in on The Noise of March via Everything Is Noise. That new Dagerman moved very quickly along with their first 12”LP, so I recommend snagging those asap! Click on the pic above or this text to go to the full list, jam/buy Dagerman below.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: CASSUS = This album has been in the making for almost a freakin’ decade. And yes, it was worth the wait.

2023 - 09 - 13 /// Sleem today, surprise drop tomorrow

September 13, 2023 by David Norman

Tomorrow we’ve got a surprise, two-song, lathe 7” limited to 100 copies (we’ll only have 50 though, and the band will have the remainder) dropping at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. It’s an absolute banger and the band played ZBR Fest 2022, blowing us all away. End of hints.

Riversleem got a premiere of their opening track from the forthcoming ‘A Second Release by Riversleem’ that drops September 25th on red 7” vinyl /100 Zegema Beach and the band. Big thanks to Borderline Fuckup for the premiere. That site has been poppin’ off lately. Love the anniversary posts they’ve been up to. Click on any of this text or the pic above to jam that premiere!

CanaDave has been posting ZBR Fest videos on the label’s Youtube account the past few days. These are essentially the second of two videos that will be posted in the CanaDave wrapup of ZBR Fest 2023 on the (((((OPENmind/SATURATEDbrain))))) blogspot in the next few days.

There was also this Massa Nera full set filmed by [hate5six] that is definitely worth the 28 minutes of your time. All variants of every format are either sold out or almost sold out, everything can be bought/is linked through this text via our bandcamp.

CanaDave did a very full circle Out Past the Rings for Carrion Spring’s 2019 self title cassette. There’s one copy left on bandcamp! (linked here)

There were a bunch of restock updates last week that included some ZBR releases and distro items. I’ve embedded the ones below that didn’t sell immediately. These generally are down to the last copies!

CA$23.50

ZBR088 Release date: Mar. 21st, 2018
For fans of: Louise Cyphre, Loma Prieta and Carrion Spring

Flabbergastingly good, this new 11-song 12"LP by Russia's Улыбайся Ветру (aka Smile To The Wind) titled 'Illusions' is a testament to chaotic, mathy, dual screaming hardcore. Seriously this is easily a contender for album of the year and fans of any technical, blazing screamo such as Loma Prieta, Neil Perry, Crowning, Louise Cyphre and Carrion Spring will likely be so happy they may soil themselves. Yep, it's that good. And the art is unreal, created by Ekaterina Zalesskaya. Released by Zegema Beach, Dead Tank, Trace In A Maze and Upwind Productions.

'Illusions' 12" vinyl on blue/300 with insert. 11 songs. Download code included.

12” on black vinyl with lyric insert. 8 songs.

Fianl reminder!!!

Hey! If you have ever wanted to be a part of one of the grave, neighbors Halloween cover compilations that I do, this may be your last chance. To be honest each year it’s getting more and more difficult to get people to submit. Last year, some friends came through at the last minute and help me wrangle up some more songs, but this year it’s starting to look like i’ll have to do a bunch myself if I want to make a decent size compilation out of it. Anyway, if you have an unreleased recording of a cover song or would like to do one and can submit it by October 1, Let me know. I would love to continue doing this but if there’s no interest maybe I should just let it go.

2023 - 06 - 30 /// Zampler #21

June 30, 2023 by David Norman

Zampler #21 ‘He’s Not Worth It’ is officially out on bandcamp. 30 tracks, 11 of which are previously unreleased, all fire. Please check it out and share it if you like it. New tracks from the likes of Obroa-skai, Atameo, Dear Diary This Is My Teenage Angst To My Adult Self, Riversleem, Vibora, Pettersson, Neuman Portentum, Othiel, In Loving Memory, Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, and New Forms. Christ what a list.

Sunday is the Neuman Portentum release. ‘God Monster’ was recorded more than 20 years ago and all of the songs never even saw the light of day. After a band member’s passing, the rest of the group contacted us in hopes of releasing the entire thing remixed and remastered. It’s fucking incredible. Imagine Ruhaeda meets The Flying Worker and you’re already there! Will there be mages? You fuckin’ betcha. 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST on Sunday July 2nd.

In Loving Memory released their new song and music video for title track “A Gentler Sun” which releases in full July 21st on Zegema Beach. You can find this ridiculous comeback song on the new Zampler as well.

Excrucis released their debut self-titled album on Tomb Tree this morning. Truly excellent, confident, progressive screamo from Chicago featuring members of Nouveau, Not For You, Wrestle Crow, and Yail.

Notice that Atameo cover of Coma Regalia on the new Zampler? Well that’s taken from an upcoming Coma Regalia covers compilation releasing fall 2023 on ZBR. All proceeds will go to help Edie Quinn of Coma/Middle Man Records/10+ other bands and their family following a rough few years.

The distro update is now complete. Vitriol products are also in this store in the New Items/Specials section. Here are a few highlights. Long live Gorlock! Here’s Dave unboxing the Examination of Violent Cinema 12” for his personal copy.

CA$40.00

Rare/last variant!

The most emotional set by far was that of Coma Regalia’s, as at that point Edie’s child was waiting for a much-needed transplant (which he has since received, hooray!) so everyone’s thoughts were with her family. Excellent set. Excellent humans. Edie even did the art for the new Zampler! We will continue posting the single videos for each band that played ZBR Fest 2023 in the order that they played, so there’s more coming!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: ONEWAYMIRROR + BURIAL ETIQUETTE = Our homies in BE just released a new split and it’s incredible!

Massa Nera was interviewed on Captured Howls! Oh man I’m glad that blog is active w/screamo again, Caleb is a great writer. And that Massa Nera album is arguably the best screamo album of 2022. Click on test or picture to go to the full post!

There were a few more ZBR Roster Reviews via This Noise Is Ours blog, the first for Descubriendo A Mr. Mime’s ‘F’ which, you guessed it, we are long sold out of. Click on the text or the picture below to go to the review!

ZAMPLER track 8 = Descubriendo A Mr. Mime

December 17, 2013 by David Norman

DESCUBRIENDO A MR. MIME's song "Ʒyre" is a fantastic romp through La Quiete, The Sky Above And Earth Below and June Paik-inspired screamo. The band's 2013 12" silkscreened 12" is still available to purchase and is limited to 50 in North America! Also, the track listing for the new ZEGEMA BEACH RECORDS Zampler #2 compilation has been posted and it is a beautiful thing.
