2023 - 07 - 04 /// Neuman then Nhomme (say that 3x fast)

Neuman Portentum came out on the 2nd and kicked some serious asses. It’s nuts to think this was recorded 25 years ago! Snag’em now, Canada/International store is down to it’s last copy! Some remain in the US. Remember, every red and black vinyl order has the chance to win a handmade!!! 1 in 15 odds in the US store.

We get asked pretty often about the Nhomme tapes that sold out, so we and the band did another run! They are completed and ready to ship. We’ll officially release them on Monday July 10th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. New variants! Same insane songs. Check out the awesome music video above to see how the packaging was created.

CanaDave did the Blue Noise Out Past the Rings #163 for the debut full length ‘everyone goes away eventually’. Holy moly has this release stood the test of time, so fucking good! So fucking sold out. Listen/download here!

Black Matter Device was, without a doubt, the most fun band I’ve seen play ZBR Fest. Not in this video: hanging from the chandelier. We will continue posting the single videos for each band that played ZBR Fest 2023 in the order that they played, so there’s more coming!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: LOMA PRIETA = The goat released a new record on Screamo Day 2023. Check it!!!

2023 - 06 - 30 /// Zampler #21

Zampler #21 ‘He’s Not Worth It’ is officially out on bandcamp. 30 tracks, 11 of which are previously unreleased, all fire. Please check it out and share it if you like it. New tracks from the likes of Obroa-skai, Atameo, Dear Diary This Is My Teenage Angst To My Adult Self, Riversleem, Vibora, Pettersson, Neuman Portentum, Othiel, In Loving Memory, Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, and New Forms. Christ what a list.

Sunday is the Neuman Portentum release. ‘God Monster’ was recorded more than 20 years ago and all of the songs never even saw the light of day. After a band member’s passing, the rest of the group contacted us in hopes of releasing the entire thing remixed and remastered. It’s fucking incredible. Imagine Ruhaeda meets The Flying Worker and you’re already there! Will there be mages? You fuckin’ betcha. 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST on Sunday July 2nd.

In Loving Memory released their new song and music video for title track “A Gentler Sun” which releases in full July 21st on Zegema Beach. You can find this ridiculous comeback song on the new Zampler as well.

Excrucis released their debut self-titled album on Tomb Tree this morning. Truly excellent, confident, progressive screamo from Chicago featuring members of Nouveau, Not For You, Wrestle Crow, and Yail.

Notice that Atameo cover of Coma Regalia on the new Zampler? Well that’s taken from an upcoming Coma Regalia covers compilation releasing fall 2023 on ZBR. All proceeds will go to help Edie Quinn of Coma/Middle Man Records/10+ other bands and their family following a rough few years.

The most emotional set by far was that of Coma Regalia’s, as at that point Edie’s child was waiting for a much-needed transplant (which he has since received, hooray!) so everyone’s thoughts were with her family. Excellent set. Excellent humans. Edie even did the art for the new Zampler! We will continue posting the single videos for each band that played ZBR Fest 2023 in the order that they played, so there’s more coming!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: ONEWAYMIRROR + BURIAL ETIQUETTE = Our homies in BE just released a new split and it’s incredible!

Vientre came all the way from Colombia to play a gorgeous and screamy set. We got it on film. Bam! We will continue posting the single videos for each band that played ZBR Fest 2023 in the order that they played, so there’s more coming!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: HERLOVEBEHEADSDAISIES = Sick Texan screamo, almost lo-fi, definitely amazing.
