2023 - 09 - 13 /// Sleem today, surprise drop tomorrow

September 13, 2023 by David Norman

Tomorrow we’ve got a surprise, two-song, lathe 7” limited to 100 copies (we’ll only have 50 though, and the band will have the remainder) dropping at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. It’s an absolute banger and the band played ZBR Fest 2022, blowing us all away. End of hints.

Riversleem got a premiere of their opening track from the forthcoming ‘A Second Release by Riversleem’ that drops September 25th on red 7” vinyl /100 Zegema Beach and the band. Big thanks to Borderline Fuckup for the premiere. That site has been poppin’ off lately. Love the anniversary posts they’ve been up to. Click on any of this text or the pic above to jam that premiere!

CanaDave has been posting ZBR Fest videos on the label’s Youtube account the past few days. These are essentially the second of two videos that will be posted in the CanaDave wrapup of ZBR Fest 2023 on the (((((OPENmind/SATURATEDbrain))))) blogspot in the next few days.

There was also this Massa Nera full set filmed by [hate5six] that is definitely worth the 28 minutes of your time. All variants of every format are either sold out or almost sold out, everything can be bought/is linked through this text via our bandcamp.

CanaDave did a very full circle Out Past the Rings for Carrion Spring’s 2019 self title cassette. There’s one copy left on bandcamp! (linked here)

There were a bunch of restock updates last week that included some ZBR releases and distro items. I’ve embedded the ones below that didn’t sell immediately. These generally are down to the last copies!

Fianl reminder!!!

Hey! If you have ever wanted to be a part of one of the grave, neighbors Halloween cover compilations that I do, this may be your last chance. To be honest each year it’s getting more and more difficult to get people to submit. Last year, some friends came through at the last minute and help me wrangle up some more songs, but this year it’s starting to look like i’ll have to do a bunch myself if I want to make a decent size compilation out of it. Anyway, if you have an unreleased recording of a cover song or would like to do one and can submit it by October 1, Let me know. I would love to continue doing this but if there’s no interest maybe I should just let it go.

2023 - 03 - 14 /// Long.Way.Down.

March 14, 2023 by David Norman

Long.Way.Down. was released via a Mathcore Index premiere and the tapes are like 80% sold out already…and we only released to bandcamp about 8 hours ago. We’re planning on getting this to vinyl in the future so if tapes are your game you better jump on these last few copies quick. You can go to the full Mathcore Index premiere by clicking on this text.

Venns 7”s continue to move, and the two-piece did a sick livestream in which they talked about 10 years of the band as their first release came a decade ago. Lots of info about their other bands, navigating the industry, and their ties to Zegema Beach. Watch it above and jam that awesomesauce below!

Blind Girls are coming to ruin the U.S. and Zegema Beach Records Fest 2023. They just released their poster w/dates and support and to be honest it’s beyond ridiculous.

CanaDave finally got his shit together and did another Out Past the Rings. This was served as double duty for Drei Affen’s latest 12”EP (listen here) as well as the second Tomb Tree Family Tree video for Grip’s ‘Early Iteration’ cassette (listen here). Want a 12” or tape? Too bad, all gone.

New Day Rising was discussed on the most recent Kill Your Radio Podcast! The U.S. store is pretty much sold out but the Canada store still has copies. C’mon you Canucks this is your home team! Click on this text for the podcast, and jam/buy that sucker below.

Lower Automation was reviewed via Grind On The Road. The band recently had to cancel a bunch of dates because of Covid (yes, it’s still a thing and it’s still not good) so feel free to give them some love in whatever manner you can. Click on the text for the review. Jam below.

Nine Hertz came back at it again this week, dishing out props to Eyelet in particular. There is only once green copy left in our store which is embedded below!

CROWNING + EYELET - Split 7” (ZBR318)

For fans of: Youth Funeral, Frail Body, United Nations, and Deafheaven.

Two current screamo heavyweights with 15 years worth of playing between them have teamed up for a new split 7” with two new songs from each band. Chicago’s Crowning have been a ZBR staple since their debut EP in 2017 carrying the mathy/sludgy/heavy torch, while Baltimore’s Eyelet are approaching a decade as a band and released one of the best records in a very long time with their ‘The Devil Shining Out Your Eyes’ (being played in full at this year’s ZBR Fest…along with an Eyelet/Crowning battle set!!!). Crowning’s two songs can be listened to alongside the Naedr split songs as they were all written under the same theme, while Eyelet’s jams are standalone bangers. Co-released on The Ghost Is Clear Records.

7” vinyl /300, 150 on green w/green-scorched innersleeves and 150 on yellow w/black innersleeves.

This Noise Is Ours continues the Zegema Beach Roster Review series with Blue Youth. Oh my god Blue Youth was the best. The fucking best. I miss you. (sobs) I miss you so much. Click on this text or pic above (sniffle) to go to the review. (runs away)
