Magana is releasing ‘Teeth’ on Softseed Music! This LA-based solo project is incredible, and I’m super stoked to be helping her out with this and literally any release she takes part it. This 12” lathe (20 black and 20 clear) releases Tuesday September 16th, and we’ll have a few copies in both ZBR stores as well as the Softseed Bandcamp. Emma Goldman tapes are live! After burning through our 200 vinyl copies of ‘all you are is we’ it was apparent that the demand remained, so to get something in time for the band’s most recent Eastern Canada tour we cooked up 100 of these babies, with 50 going to the band (and are probably gone/near gone) and the remaining 50 getting split up among the ZBR stores. Snag one now, you know they ain’t gonna last!

Avery Friedman’s ‘New Thing’ 12” vinyl arrived yesterday and holy sheeat do they look sick. There’s clear pavement blue /100 and stupid fancy /30. Gorgeous, dreamy, singer/songwriter indie rock from New York.

Running low? You betcha. There’s single digit copies left of the ZBR swirl and blue, test dips are gone, and there’s about 20 of the butterfly swirl and apricot left. Gonna make more? Nope, that’s not how this comp rolls. Once it’s gone it’s gone. If they sell out soon Rob from Not Just A Phase will down a spicy Paqui on camera. It’s a win/win, baby. Just a heads up, the unreleased This Endless Breath CD songs will not appear on the release as it enabled us to keep it to two 12”s instead of three.

The Not Just A Phase Vol.3 compilation released yesterday! Some variants are already gone so don’t sleep on this killer 24-track tape (one song is a cassette exclusive) bursting with previously unreleased tracks from: Captain Jazz, Claire Voyancé, Coup D’état, Demersal, Drought, Gil Cerrone, Floating Woods, Garland Briggs, Geronimostilton, Heavens Blinding Hue, Hynoki, Lagrimas, Leda, Letterbombs, Módulo Lunar, Mourn Recif, myhateisabeautifulexistence, Of Death…, Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, Retratros De Heroína, and Youth Novel.

Usurp Synapse’s ‘Disinformation Fix’ is just waiting on an updated/final invoice then we can release the pre-orders. This will likely be next week but I’ll have a proper update here first with an actual date and time. The 2x12” releases on 500 units of random colored vinyl with gatefold covers and die-cuts or perhaps laser cuts (that’s the last thing we’re deciding on). Nuvolascura has a new album coming out in July. We will be co-releasing alongside the always awesome Icorrupt Records in Europe. It’s their heaviest material to date and oh my god it’s incredible.

Blue Youth’s sophomore 12”LP ‘Defeatist’ releases this Tuesday April 15th! We made 300 copies of this one (their debut LP was /200 and it’s sold out) and put’em on green wax, with The Ghost Is Clear Records co-releasing with us cuz they love the band as much as we do. Their new album definitely gets heavier than their previous material but retains the band’s sassy, rockin’ foundation. You can scope their final premiere in the most recent Operation X-Ray episode linked below (you’ll also find Lord Wrought and Mahria in there) for “Patient Patient”. Full release is Tuesday at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST!!!

Bloom Dream tapes are down to the literal last copies of the 2nd run, Bandcamp has a white and gold injection, while this store has a random and gold injection. Then we mad out…again.

Demersal has a new EP releasing in the fall but they’ve dropped a music video now cuz why the hell not? This song shows the band’s maturity and expansion into new genres as it isn’t just screamo, it’s also got some gorgeous clean singing as well as the heaviest gutteral growls to date, showcasing their ability to traverse new terrain and doing it well. We still have 7” copies left of their previous LP but I think we’re totally sold out of their 2024 12”.

The final Sutras song premiere went up on Foxy Digitalis a few days back and I just took promo pics for the tape variants. There’s 20 swirl, 10 yellow, 5 brown, and 3 test dips. Wicked post-hardcore with shoegaze and indie elements. Click on the pic below or this text to go to the premiere!

The ‘all you are is we’ 12”s have arrived at CanaDave’s house and by golly they look awesome. If you don’t like yellow or red you’re gonna get pissed, but for everyone else this color scheme fucking rocks. Includes lyrics insert and comes in a yellow inner jacket to really smack your senses. I also played with them last weekend and they destroyed. Their full set can be viewed above. Helluva time. Release show poster below

2024 - 10 - 09 /// Smush is in + Crowning to Japan!

Smush has arrived! Holy moly was that outside of the plant’s guaranteed time. Inserts are printed and the records look/sound great. Softseed Music made 150 of’em and they’re already more than half gone. U.S. store gets their copies when U.S. Dave returns from his Japanese tour with Crowning/Oaktails, and should all be shipped by the end of October. I’d probably keep an eye on their bandcamp btw!

Crowning cds are in stock in both stores + bandcamp. They are literally flying to Japan right now to join Oaktails for the tour. As stated, keep an eye on those bandcamps!

Members of Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, Mourn Recif, and Hillsboro have a new group called Wollruss. Their first show is October 19th, 2024 at Oaklands with A Recorded Dawn, Shoplifter, and I.O.
