ZBR applies some break action

Hey y’all, some sad news first. With the North American economy neck-chop and subsequent monetary turmoil, our sales slowdown will result in less releases over the next few months. We used to do a release every two weeks and alternate between ZBR and Tomb Tree, thus ensuring new music every week. For the next bit I think it’ll be more like one ZBR and one Tomb Tree release a month, so we’ll likely only have one to three releases each month unless sales pick back up again. For the first five years of ZBR I had to pump personal pay into the label to fund it, but since Cullen joined in 2018 it’s become self-sufficient, allowing us to keep releases coming out almost weekly. With everyone hurting and sales plummeting, I can’t pump personal money back into this as my family is also struggling to make ends meet in this hellhole of timeline. So it is what it is.

If sales stay the course, I’ll probably have to open CanaDave’s SkramzCave once more with new items to fund the stuff we’ve already committed to, but that will be the last one. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that but I’ll keep y’all informed. Speaking of, please join our email list so you can keep up to date in 2026 when we start getting off social media (facebook is first, fuck that place).

Our duplication company we use is usually pretty decent, but their handling of our Sans Visage tapes was a bit lacking in proper communication, so we had to push back the release of ‘drowned/resistance’ until Wednesday December 17th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. You can check out “resent” which premiered on Operation X-Ray this past Friday.

Oh damn we got the new Vibora album last week and it is fucking amazing. That’s the cover above for the upcoming ‘Egin Ez Dugun Guztia’ 12”LP, which releases February 20th, 2026 and houses 10 brand new jams. We still got a few of their previous ‘Zaldi Beltza’ 12”LP left (first run all sold out save one!, a couple of second runs also in stock) so pick that up and prep for a new jam very soon!

Magana released her ‘Bad News’ Ep earlier this year, so to wrap up 2025 Softseed will be releasing it alongside her debut EP ‘Golden Tongue’, so be on the lookout for that soon! Until then please enjoy ‘Teeth’ which Softseed recently released on 12” lathe. Gorgeous stuff.

Our Last Fucking Copy today goes to the last Tenue cassette for ‘Arcos, Bóvedas, Pórticos’. It’s of the ‘random color’ variety, but as it’s in my hand I can see it’s a half white/half black copy that matches the art beautifully. Athousandangelsandseven 7” are finally out and they look great! The foldover jacket was a great call. 163 ultra clear and 85 black! Probably CanaDave’s EP of the year!!!

Our next release is the Mourn Recif x A Recorded Dawn split cd /100!!! The always reliable Operation X-Ray premiered one of the A Recorded Dawn tracks which you can scope below, which also includes our November release from Twins.

Magana’s '‘Teeth’ released today on Softseed Music! I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Jeni, who has been releasing incredible, witchy, folksy, indie rock for about a decade. This 12” lathe is on 20 black (Softseed edition) and 20 clear (Magana edition) with a few copies now being up in both ZBR stores as well as the Softseed Bandcamp. I can't recommend this California solo project enough. For fans of: Squirrel Flower, Nova One, Laura Stevenson, and Holly Mae Henry.

Bloom Dream ripped the fest apart nice and early, so here’s their video from ZBR Fest 2025. We’ve got one test tape left (linked here) from CanaDave’s personal collection then both runs of cds and both runs of tapes are 100% out. More than half of the individual band videos from ZBR Fest have popped up but there’s a few stragglers still to come, some of which have additional videos that weren’t included in the full fest documentary. Magana is releasing ‘Teeth’ on Softseed Music! This LA-based solo project is incredible, and I’m super stoked to be helping her out with this and literally any release she takes part it. This 12” lathe (20 black and 20 clear) releases Tuesday September 16th, and we’ll have a few copies in both ZBR stores as well as the Softseed Bandcamp. Check out the “Paul” music video below, as it’s a phenomenal song!

Serrate’s ‘even the wind sounds dead’ 12”LP are out! We some red and some mucus, as well as a few tests! All are linked in the Bandcamp embed below, and remember that our stores are cheaper than the Bandcamp copies!

Athousandangelsandseven’s debut self-titled EP is finally getting that sweet, sweet vinyl treatment. We did 163 clear and 85 black and these suckas will release on Sunday September 14th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST alongside Big Stuff Thing #7!!! More info on that next post <3

Naufraage is next on Tomb Tree and will be released as soon as the vinyl arrives (although we’re doing tapes only). Until then we can at least announce the split between Oshera and Tamsen. I just got the masters to this and it’s wicked, with the rest of humanity getting to join the party on October 6th!

Cali’s Magana will be releasing on Softseed Music! This incredible solo project by Jeni Magana is a phenomenal listen, with 2024’s ‘Teeth’ coming out next week on 12” lathe /40, as well as 2025’s ‘Bad News’ EP that might show up on cassette in the near future! Jeni is a great human and very active in tons of projects including (but not limited to) Pen Pin, Mitske, Lady Lamb. Check out CanaDave’s interview with her below, pics coming next post!

Bok Suna got a great writeup on Tinnitist which you should check out. ‘Carnate’ was released Aug 29th and it’s making CanaDave’s best of 2025 list without a doubt.
