Mercy Necromancy 12" pre-order

Well holy shit, CanaDave is in heaven because his Softseed Music label is releasing Mercy Necromancy for the first time…on vinyl! The 12” pre-order for ‘Fallen’ just went up so please go snag that if minimal/ethereal goth with the most gorgeous of vocals. For fans of: Nicole Dollanganger, Ethel Cain, Grouper, Cozy St. Jean, etc. 12”s should be in hand March 2026.

CanaDave’s SkramzCave closes at midnight tonight PST, but just a heads up if you already scoped - a buncha new stuff was added to the “miscellaneous page” if you wanna check it before finishing up at my place. Hetta tapes are all finished! The US box heads out today so if you ordered from there they’ll be shipping mid-December but all other orders will go out this week. And just a heads up, we ended up with an extra copy so there’s now an /1 white variant!!! Truly like a scalpel to the brain, this shit will fuck you up.

ZBR Fest 2026 is already nearly complete. We’ve got 20 bands already confirmed with the final round having until this week to let us know if they can play. It’s going down May 1st (pre-show) in Victoria on Vancouver Island, then May 2nd and 3rd (day 1 + day 2) in Vancouver on the mainland. Please note that cities are confusing here and Victoria and Vancouver are about 3 hours apart via a ferry, so if you plan on attending the pre-show and the main fest you should book some place to stay in or around Victoria or you’ll get stranded as the ferries close by the time the pre-show ends. We’ll start revealing bands in January!

Emma Goldman and Blue Youth made the Best Album Covers of 2025 by Cups’n’Cakes Pod. What was your favourite? Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to Stormlight! I thought we were mad outta these tapes but I just found one more and it’s the best variant (gas swirl) on our Bandcamp page. 2025 - 08 - 26 /// Emma Goldman tapes + Usurp Synapse pre-order on Fri!

Emma Goldman tapes are live! After burning through our 200 vinyl copies of ‘all you are is we’ it was apparent that the demand remained, so to get something in time for the band’s most recent Eastern Canada tour we cooked up 100 of these babies, with 50 going to the band (and are probably gone/near gone) and the remaining 50 getting split up among the ZBR stores. Snag one now, you know they ain’t gonna last!

Avery Friedman’s ‘New Thing’ 12” vinyl arrived yesterday and holy sheeat do they look sick. There’s clear pavement blue /100 and stupid fancy /30. Gorgeous, dreamy, singer/songwriter indie rock from New York.

Running low? You betcha. There’s single digit copies left of the ZBR swirl and blue, test dips are gone, and there’s about 20 of the butterfly swirl and apricot left. Gonna make more? Nope, that’s not how this comp rolls. Once it’s gone it’s gone. If they sell out soon Rob from Not Just A Phase will down a spicy Paqui on camera. It’s a win/win, baby. The 2x12” releases on 500 units of hand-poured colored vinyl with lazer-cut gatefold covers. Please remember these WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL NOVEMBER. That includes orders with additional items in the order, the entire order will be held until November. Just a heads up, the unreleased This Endless Breath CD songs will not appear on the release as it enabled us to keep it to two 12”s instead of three.

Some variants are already gone so don’t sleep on this killer 24-track tape (one song is a cassette exclusive) bursting with previously unreleased tracks from: Captain Jazz, Claire Voyancé, Coup D’état, Demersal, Drought, Gil Cerrone, Floating Woods, Garland Briggs, Geronimostilton, Heavens Blinding Hue, Hynoki, Lagrimas, Leda, Letterbombs, Módulo Lunar, Mourn Recif, myhateisabeautifulexistence, Of Death…, Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, Retratros De Heroína, and Youth Novel.

Usurp Synapse’s ‘Disinformation Fix’ is just waiting on an updated/final invoice then we can release the pre-orders. This will likely be next week but I’ll have a proper update here first with an actual date and time. Softseed Music has so much ridiculousness in the pipeline that it’s insane. We had to bump the ZBR Fest final wave to Wednesday to allow for one more thing to run through the filter. So it’ll be final lineup, pre-show lineup, and ticket sales. Feel free to wear a diaper on your head cuz it might explode.

Coma Of Eris premiered two final songs from the upcoming self-titled cassette LP releasing this Friday February 14th, the first titled “Archers Take Aim” was put on the Operation X-Ray show, while the latter is titled “A Dip in Lake Drowning” and was just premiered this morning on Not Just A Phase.
