Piri Reis out, Distro update + restocks, Shoganai is next!

The distro and restock update that was scheduled for this morning got pushed back to tomorrow (Friday July 25th) as we just couldn’t get it all ready in time. So here’s a list of what’s coming so you can prep. In this Canada/International store everything will be located in the “New Items/Specials” section (linked here) while the U.S. store will have it all in the “All” tab (linked here). Some products will only be in one store (as in some cases we only have one copy) so be sure to skip between the two stores if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

Shoganai will be our next release on Tuesday July 29th via 53 cassettes, pictured below. 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. Fans of Nuvolascura, New Forms, Mahria, and Blind Girls will be all the fuck over this.

Piri Reis tapes for ‘Ritma’ came out and is already almost out, as we only took 30% of the run of 100 tapes. The 12”s never lasted so don’t expect these to be around for long, especially after they destroy New Friends Fest.

Operation X-Ray premiered the final Sininen single from the upcoming ‘I was recently upset’ as well as a Piri Reis jam.

Clay Birds got the This Noise Is Ours treatment. In response to the different titles (“of” vs. “from”), the band’s stuff is “from”, but the cassette j-card for ZBR was made by the band with “of” in the title instead. Holy fuck!!!

Sininen’s final song premiere went up last week for the closer “mitt hus”. The band features members of Via Fondo and the seven-track EP ‘I was recently upset’ releases on 120 tapes July 28th via Tomb Tree. What’s next on ZBR? Well shit, I’m glad you asked. We’ve got tapes on Tuesday July 22nd for ‘Ritma’ by Piri Reis prior to their New Friends Fest performance, followed by Shoganai cassettes for their debut self-titled EP on July 29th. July 30th we’ll be premiering the ZBR Fest 2025 video on Youtube so make sure you attend the first showing if you’re as keen as I am!

Nuvolascura cds are sold out and the “Linear half’n’half” is also out of stock. “Figment swirl” is all that remains. Rockambula gave it a stellar review which you can read by clicking on the pic above or this text. Snag those last few copies now!

Avery Friedman released a live studio session for the song “New Thing” and you should definitely check it out. We’ve been talking to the plant about the 12” run, and they are behind as they’re waiting on the lacquer. We’ll keep you posted but hopefully they’ll be in-hand early August. Fingers crossed!

Nuvolascura’s third full length ‘How This All Ends’ has been out for just 3 days and we’re almost sold out of everything. The other two albums sold out years back so these won’t be sticking around long, that’s for sure. Receiving heaps of praise immediately, Stereogum was the first to pick up on this awesome sauce. Bok Suna’s new album ‘Carnate’ is on the brink of release, with it’s first single “honest person” coming out last night. The lo-fi project has leveled up to indie/shoegaze/bedroom rock/pop and features the drummer of Hillsboro. Tapes are live on the Softseed bandcamp but 12”s release alongside the LP on August 29th. Stuntman’s ‘Maximum Legal Wage’ keeps getting mad love from around the globe, this time from Nawak Posse. Nuvolascura releases in less than 24 hours! Holy crap we’ve been waiting 5 years and the time is finally here!!! Goddamn we’re excited, and you should be too. Mourn’s next show is opening for Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead in Vancouver on July 25th!

2025 - 04 - 14 /// Blue Youth tomorrow, Sutras on Wednesday!

Nuvolascura has a new album coming out in July. We will be co-releasing alongside the always awesome Icorrupt Records in Europe. It’s their heaviest material to date and oh my god it’s incredible.

Blue Youth’s sophomore 12”LP ‘Defeatist’ releases this Tuesday April 15th! We made 300 copies of this one (their debut LP was /200 and it’s sold out) and put’em on green wax, with The Ghost Is Clear Records co-releasing with us cuz they love the band as much as we do. Their new album definitely gets heavier than their previous material but retains the band’s sassy, rockin’ foundation. You can scope their final premiere in the most recent Operation X-Ray episode linked below (you’ll also find Lord Wrought and Mahria in there) for “Patient Patient”. Full release is Tuesday at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST!!!

Bloom Dream tapes are down to the literal last copies of the 2nd run, Bandcamp has a white and gold injection, while this store has a random and gold injection. Then we mad out…again.

Demersal has a new EP releasing in the fall but they’ve dropped a music video now cuz why the hell not? This song shows the band’s maturity and expansion into new genres as it isn’t just screamo, it’s also got some gorgeous clean singing as well as the heaviest gutteral growls to date, showcasing their ability to traverse new terrain and doing it well. We still have 7” copies left of their previous LP but I think we’re totally sold out of their 2024 12”.

The final Sutras song premiere went up on Foxy Digitalis a few days back and I just took promo pics for the tape variants. There’s 20 swirl, 10 yellow, 5 brown, and 3 test dips. Wicked post-hardcore with shoegaze and indie elements. Click on the pic below or this text to go to the premiere!

The ‘all you are is we’ 12”s have arrived at CanaDave’s house and by golly they look awesome. If you don’t like yellow or red you’re gonna get pissed, but for everyone else this color scheme fucking rocks. Includes lyrics insert and comes in a yellow inner jacket to really smack your senses. I also played with them last weekend and they destroyed. Their full set can be viewed above. Helluva time. Release show poster below

I’m obsessed with this thing and even have an upcoming podcast with her that should release sometime before the album drops in full. Absolutely stellar stuff.
