2025 - 04 - 08 /// Dagerman 12"s + Lord Wrought tapes!

April 08, 2025 by David Norman

Dagerman’s debut 12”LP ‘tragedie | VIVERE’ is officially shipping, as we got 40 of the 300 copies to spread across three stores so don’t expect them to hang around for too long. Sensational Italian screamo of the heavier variety, whilst still retaining a strong sense of dynamics and melody. Fans of Raein, La Quiete, Vibora, and Ojne need to scope this immediately.

'Mortis' by LORD WROUGHT is now on the Tomb Tree bandcamp with tapes shipping immediately. Their blend of hardcore, metal, sludge, and dare I say screamo is vicious, unrelenting, and downright evil. Oh and the tapes look sick. For fans of: Crossed, Crestfallen, and Portrayal Of Guilt.

Click here for the full interview!

Crossed was interviewed by Rockzone Mag and they are currently bouncing around Europe on tour. Click on the picture above for the interview, check out the tour dates below, and jam/buy that shit further down. 12”s should be arriving this month but we currently don’t have tracking.

Mourn Recif played at the final Linden House show this past Saturday and it was a blast. It was the first show with our new guitarist Josh who ran the house and also spends time in A Recorded Dawn (who also played) and Hose. Above you can see clips from the aforementioned bands as well as Emma Goldman and Coup D’etat, and below you can scope the full Mourn Recif set. I would personally recommend from Deers onward but you do you.

Emma Goldman has their release show on May 9th! Hopefully I’ll be there slingin’ extra records but I gotta see if I survive the ZBR Fest trip. Wicked bands, sick poster, amazing release, fantastic people. The Grind gave them some love which you can check out by clicking on the pic above or this text.

Operation X-Ray continues their excellent coverage of multiple scenes and genres, including Blue Youth, Mahria, Dagerman, and Satsuma in last week’s episode.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: MERCY TIES = Back after a lengthy break, this group turned many an ear last week with this amazing comeback full length! Out now on The Ghost Is Clear. <3

Hopefully ya didn’t sleep on Mahria, cuz that shit sold out.

Our next release is the incredible Italian screamo debut from Dagerman on 12”LP this Monday April 7th (9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST) followed by Canadian noise rock/post-hardcore Blue Youth sophomore 12”LP on April 15th. Sinema emocore/metalcore 12”s for ‘After the Flatline’ drop and immediately sell out on April 22nd, followed by the epic first full length from the long-running BC screamo/emo-violence band Emma Goldman on April 28th.

Sutras got their second (of three) song premieres via Everything Is Noise for “Karma to Burn”. Their new six-song EP ‘The Crisis of Existence’ releases in full on April 16th!!! Part Modern Life Is War, part Touche Amore, and part Envy, this thing is powerful in a peaceful sense. Click on the pic above or this text to go to the premiere.

This epic Emma Goldman show is going down tomorrow and CanaDave will be there slingin’ records, including the one and only test press available to the public. Got $50? It’s yours. Also, Mourn Recif is playing and we’re closing with our brand new jam and it goes harder than anything we’ve ever played.

Lord Wrought’s ‘Mortis’ EP releases on Tomb Tree this Tuesday April 8th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST on a small run of 54 gorgeous cassettes. This Vancouver-based hardcore/grind/metalcore/screamo crossover blew me away live so picking up the pressing from Yetzer Hara Records who has moved into a specific straight-edge hardcore pocket after a brief hiatus.

Dead Hour Noise got the This Noise Is Ours treatment in a wicked track-by-track review post. We expect these 12”s in sometime this month so we’ll be posting promos as soon as we have’em, but pre-orders are up now if you can’t wait! Click on the pic above or this text to go to the review.

November 01, 2024 by David Norman

Senza’s ‘Celestial Body’ is officially out! 500 copies over 200 pink/blue/black merge, 150 pink, and 150 blue, all with etched b-side and 12-page lyric book. Merges are definitely the hot ticket item and are moving hella fast. UK/EU customers snag from Dog Knights unless you’re placing a multi-item order.

Concealer is the next ZBR release and it’s this Friday! ‘Heartfelt Entries’ includes two brand new songs and the ‘dissonance [all that keeps me away]’ EP on one convenient cassette. Jam the already released EP below!

Coup D’Etat has an 8-song cassette full length releasing Dec 13th on Tomb Tree but the first single is up on the artist’s Bandcamp page. The metallic screamo three-piece from Vancouver Island has been kicking ass at shows since I moved here and we are hella excited about it.

Hallam Foe got some serious love from Everything Is Noise with their epic piece about how fucking exciting this 12” lathe really is. Read all about it by clicking on the pic above or this text. Experience the brain-fuckery below, and pick up a copy before they’re gone if you’re so inclined.

Orphan Donor’s ‘Old Patterns’ was the subject of the most recent Out Past the Rings. A reminder that 1) there are two tapes left in stock and 2) the packaging says ZBR188 but it’s actually ZBR189.

Click here for the full interview!!!

Vi Som Alskade Varanda Sa Mycket’s debut 12”LP is officially 10 years old! Holy crap I remember finding out about them beforehand and getting ZBR’s hand in juuuuuust before the 12” went to press on Blood Of The Young. Nick was truly welcoming and working with him was a downright amazing experience, RIP my dude <3 Click on this text or the pic above to go the Idioteq.com piece that also serves as an interview with vocalist and my friend Arvid (vocals).

We sold out of that beautiful thing ages ago, but we do have a few copies left of their 8-way 2x12” ‘Eight Feet Under’ (with two exclusive/amazing tracks, embedded below) and their full length follow-up ‘Det onda. Det goda. Det vackra. Det fula.’ (embedded above).

Eklektik Rock rounded up a buncha September releases and included our Bloom Dream in their monthly review. I’m pretty sure we’re sold out, but if not snag a cd asap, as I know the tapes are gone. Click on the pic above or this text to go to the list of reviews. Jam below!

2024 - 08 - 13 /// Reia Cibele & news ketchup

August 13, 2024 by David Norman

Reia Cibele tapes were just released on Tomb Tree on a rare run of just 31. The self-titled, five-track, debut EP from this Portuguese band is fucking stellar. Jam a song or two and hear what I mean.

Closet Witch released a new music by Mark Warm (yes, that amazing human) for their (arguably) best song on their newest 12”LP ‘Chiaroscuro’. We still got copies including a few of the European variants! Click on the pic above or this text for the No Clean Singing premiere of said music video.

Click here for the full review!

This Noise Is Ours did a piece on Ieatheartattacks. Easily one of CanaDave’s all-time faves, we have just a handful of tapes left and we won’t be making more. RIP you awesome dead dudes. Click on this text or the pic above to read. Jam/buy below.

Click here for all the links you’ll need!

Smush did a podcast with CanaDave cuz…let’s be real, he loves that shit. 12” pre-orders still open! Click on the pic above or this text to go there. Jam/buy below!

CanaDave is in Mourn Recif and they’re playing in Victoria this August 24th alongside Emma Goldman, Coup D’etat, and Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead. Distro will be available. Email us requests of stuff to bring at zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com
