First things first, 12 or so EU countries have a new tariff implemented but Canada Post hasn’t had time to prepare to charge for it (or something like that) so I cannot ship a few orders until the postal service catches up and fixes it. I might need to hit people up for a measly $3 or whatever the tariff ends up being, but you can just place another order if you want and I can refund your shipping (minus the tariff fee) if that’s easier. I’ll give you more news when I get it!

Second things…second I guess. I am going on vacation to see my family in Ontario from July 24th-August 3rd so obviously nothing will get shipped in the that timeframe, and hopefully the EU stuff is smoothed out by the time I get back.

Third things…fourth…right? I mean…The Names Of Our Friends x Poetry Of Torch split releases this Friday! It’ll go up at a stupid time (cuz I’ll be going to the airport at like 4am PST) so half the copies will go up on Bandcamp at that time and the rest will go up in this store at our regular 9am PST.

This early demo from the immortal Cali band mixes the softer/jazzy stuff from Iwrotehaikus with their later and heavier sound. I wicked snapshot in time. Constrain’s new EP ‘1999’ was released last week and I moved more than half of the cassettes already. The sassy metalcore is less sass and more metal than the previous EP but still intertwines them and hits like a fucking truck. The tapes arrive at my house next week and will start shipping in early August.

Hillsboro tapes for ‘A Party in Your Name’ are officially done and ready to ship! This album is a wicked collection of songs that fall somewhere in the indie/emo/shoegaze category and features my good bud Nima from Wollruss on vocals/guitar.

2026 - 3 - 20 /// Dagerman released!

Dagerman was released today! The Italian band’s sophomore effort takes the first album’s strongest parts and hones that while adding new textures and heavier sections. Phenomenal stuff for fans of Øjne, La Quiete, Radura, and Joliette.

Fainting Dreams had their first and only song premiere from the ‘Silence of Birds That Rarely Sing’ cassette EP releasing on Softseed Music. This release has the band mixing their ethereal Ethel Cain-esque stuff with crushing black metal/screamo and I couldn’t be happier about that concoction. Full release is April 6th but you can scope the premiere for “I” via Not Just A Phase by clicking on the pic below or this text. The project features Elle of Athousandangelsandseven on vocals, and you can check out their previous release below!

Ben from Scenario was on the most recent Everything Remade podcast which you should definitely check out! We released their debut EP on 12” as well as their debut LP on 12”, and we’ve somehow got one copy left below of the ‘When All Is Said And Done’!!!

Othiel 12”s for ‘World’s Fastest Car’ came and went in about 24 hours, but we’ve got the band coming to ZBR Fest to play it in addition to the pre-show so I reckon they’ll have copies. ZBR would love to repress that first LP on 12” as we’ve been out for a good year or two.

Coming in alongside Spain’s Crossed is Portugal’s Hetta. If you’ve followed ZBR/Tomb Tree the last few years then you are well aware of this band, but I figured it was time to SHOW people what they can do as well. They’re live show looks insane so I’m hella (hetta?) excited to bring them all the way over. Check out the two band’s full tour and definitely come see them at the fest. The fest passes are well over 50% sold out, so make some plans to come out if ya can! And that, my friends, is Today’s ZBR Fest 2026 Profile Feature.

Wollruss is playing another show, this time in Vancouver at Red Gate with some local homies. This is our last show before the ZBR Fest pre-show (tickets linked to this text). I saw Filigree Silver God just over a year ago and they were awesome, I can’t even imagine how good they must be now!

Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to the only double Dave release in the ZBR catalogue! Crowning (featuring US Dave) and Crowning (featuring CanaDave) did a split back in 2018 that led to a 2019 European tour (documentary embedded above). This shall not be repressed as Swallows Nest choked on said nest and Crowning’s split tracks have ended up on a splits compilation 12”. Snag it below or forever hold your peace.

Operation X-Ray delved hard into our stuff, playing songs from Soastasphrenas, Concealer, Biological Fathers, and Vibora!

The distro and restock update that was scheduled for this morning got pushed back to tomorrow (Friday July 25th) as we just couldn’t get it all ready in time. Clay Birds got the This Noise Is Ours treatment. In response to the different titles (“of” vs. “from”), the band’s stuff is “from”, but the cassette j-card for ZBR was made by the band with “of” in the title instead. Sininen’s final song premiere went up last week for the closer “mitt hus”. Scenario was just released in full on 200 random silt 12”s!!! This thing shows fantastic growth from their debut EP and is truly an exceptional full length. Fans of Hot Cross, Frail Body, and Armywives rejoice! You can catch them at this year’s ZBR Fest which starts in just under two weeks!

Swallows Nest was the most recent Out Past the Rings victim, with a ton of information regarding the band…cuz CanaDave used to be in it! Tapes long sold out. Listen to/download the tracks here.

You will be seeing a lot of tour posters from bands playing ZBR Fest popping up here in case you are in the path of destruction. Blind Girls arrived in the US last week and have started tearing shit apart. Super stoked to see my friends ruin Chicago at ZBR Fest 2023. Check out their full set that I filmed last summer in Southern Ontario.

The very prolific HUNDREDS OF AU released this stellar 5-song EP in late 2021 to much acclaim and now it’s arrived on 45rpm eco-mix 12”s out of 200! Co-released with Protagonist Music, the 12” vinyl contains a blazing-yet-controlled metallic hardcore/screamo fusion from members of You And I, Hell Mary, and The Assistant. Although the balance is obvious on all tracks, songs like “Objective Party” and “Afloat” really showcase an incredible ability to sustain melody and progression whilst retaining power and weight. Easily one of the best EPs of 2021.
