2026 - 6 - 23 /// Mal Criado released + t-shirts on sale!

Well hot damn it must be summer. I looked in my closet a few weeks back and noticed I had almost 150 t-shirts. Seems like too many, right? Owning labels and doing distro and festivals generally sees me buying and being gifted shirts on a near monthly basis. I decided to thin it out to 50 shirts so here’s the first (major) batch of stuff that has been worn generally zero to 5 times (with a few being mainstays till I put on too much weight) and are all in very good to incredible condition AND they are super cheap (unless they’re super rare, but even then they are about the OG listing price).

There will be another sale next Friday when I go through on a final run inside my packed closet and part with my final 30 and get that thing down to a reasonable 45 shirts for myself.

A friends reminder that although the US store has temporarily closed, people in the U.S.A. can still order from our bandcamp and Canada store (I ship very quickly and include a bunch of free download codes), as shipping is quite cheap as after the exchange rate you’re looking at approximately:

Mal Criado’s ‘Ni Todo La Tierra Entera’ released this past Friday on Tomb Tree! The 13 jams exude anger, dissatisfaction, and inequality at the horseshit system in place, all wrapped in a nasty powerviolence tortilla. Mmmm, so good!

Orphan Donor’s recent album ‘Ailments’ continues to ruin brains around the globe. The always reliable Everything Is Noise gave an excellent review, so check that out and snag a cd while you’re at it. On this record, Orphan Donor is a heaving, lumbering lump of organic sound matter, moving along like a giant deformed creature floating down a river of molten lava. And that perfect mental image owes a huge deal to James Revelle, the artist responsible for the band’s unique visual identity since 2020. Think Mike Diana on a bad acid trip; not the go-to art direction for a self prescribed skramz band, but nothing that Orphan Donor does is run of the mill.

For a few years I had the idea of doing the Eight Feet Under split series. It would contain bands from four countries, be two bands from each country, thus totaling eight bands over two 12”s, each supplying an EPs worth of material. The first one was fucking amazing, but the second installment had some bands drop and I just kinda axed it. Truly a bummer. I do have one last copy of the first and only edition of this series which contains Vi Som Alskade Varandra Sa Mycket, Via Fondo, Sleeper Wave, Youth Novel, The World That Summer, Nous Etions, Lamantide, and Pastel - thus making it today’s Last Fucking Copy! 2026 - 6 - 08 /// Zampler art submissions now open!!!

Just a quick reminder that the US store 40% off sale aka the “Liqui-Dave-tion” sale that is automatically applied to all orders will be active until Sunday June 14th at 9pm EST / 11pm CST / 12pm EST.

The big news from the past few days is that all upcoming Zamplers are open to art submissions! Starting right now you can go watch Starship Troopers (just the first one) and then check out the other Zampler covers and then cook up something sick that references the movie (and isn’t the same as a previous cover). Art submitted will be considered for the June 30th Zampler, with everything that isn’t chosen and comes after that date automatically will be considered for the next Zampler, and so on and so on as these things release every 6 months. You don’t need to include a Zampler # on the cover so just leave that open for when a # is chosen at a later date. You can email your submissions to zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com

And I feel the need to reiterate, all art MUST reference Starship Troopers or it doesn’t fit with the theme I’ve had going for more than 13 years. Jam #25 below with art from Jackson Schott!

Cadere (formerly Mourn Recif) has two shows coming up with Ontario’s Constrain in Duncan this Friday and in Victora this Saturday. ZBR distro will be in hand. A teaser video of the band’s debut EP drops on Friday!

Following the Vancouver Island band’s new release ‘A Party in Your Name’ by my friends in Hillsboro, they also released a 13-minute video that acts as kind of a music video for a few jams. Very cool, artistic stuff! The tapes should finish this week and be in-hand next week. I also snagged some live videos from their Victoria release show that I’ll post next week.

Nhomme released one of the greatest and mind-bending EPs I’ve ever heard a few years back. Despite keeping mostly silent (but playing a few shows now and then) they’ve been pretty quiet, but Ryan from Meatcube recently completed an interview with them! Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to more super old releases, this one being Italy’s Lamantide. The EP ended up making me ask the band to participate in the 2x12” 8-way split. Very dark and heavy shit, like Converge on nightmare fuel. This 12” will not be repressed so snag this last copy (below) or forever hold your peace.
