So Zegema Beach Records Fest 2024 had the early birds go up yesterday but they’ve already sold out. Wave 1 was met was a most ridiculous response, we thank you! Wave 2 reveals at the same time as the regular-priced tickets on Friday December 22nd.

A day before the next ZBR Fest reveal will be the Gifts From Enola discography boxset. Four cassettes that include heaps of unreleased/live material to boot. Over five hours of incredible music. Above is the ‘Loyal Eyes Betrayed The Mind’ cassette, which includes the band’s earliest work, done at 18-19 years old whilst in college. Exceptional stuff. Below is my fave from this tape.

Thank You Driver was premiered yesterday on Mathcore Index (full premiere/write-up/links are here) and then uploaded to our bandcamp earlier today. The Canada/International store only has the primary variant left but there are still some rarer copies in the U.S. store. Letterbombs + In Wolves’ Clothing split 12” is out in all its glory. Only 100 12”s pressed between the bands, ZBR, and Dingleberry.

Blind Girls also got the cassette treatment, as we are running low on those 12”s! Only 35 copies are available through ZBR, the rest through No Funeral.

Massa Nera closed out Day 1 with a full set of their yet-to-be released LP that releases December 2nd, 2022 on Zegema Beach Records. It was incredible to experience it in full, with almost everyone in attendance hearing each song for the first time. Next post starts Day 2 of ZBR Fest Mid-West 2022 on June 12th, 2022, and thus concludes Day 1!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: PET FOX = If you like Ovlov and the gorgeous shoegaze that spews from that band then I think you’d dig an offshoot called Pet Fox who sounds like a heavier version of Ovlov mixed with No Knife.

Tomb Tree just released the 2009 album ‘Sentinels’ by Amber Daybreak (member of Chalk Hands) and we’re the only place to get’em. Super awesome, mathy, spacey, noodley, screamo from Belgium. Tapes /85.

On Saturday we’ve got the split 12” between In Wolves Clothing (US) and Letterbombs (Finland) as well as the cassette release of ‘The Weight of Everything’ by Blind Girls! Oh happy Saturday indeed.

Unsigned Showcase featured Cuck on the 5 Extreme Bands From Around The World. Check it out below! Tomb Tree released the ex-Swallows Nest band’s debut full length last month.

Gillian Carter just announced a new full length yesterday on Skeletal Lightning so this timing couldn’t have worked out any better. This band is 1) full of awesome humans, 2) an amazing screamo band, and 3) put on the best sets of almost any band I know. Only one more band from Day 1 of ZBR Fest Mid-West 2022 on June 11th, 2022, then we’re on to Day 2!
