2026 - 9 - 17 /// Monterey 12"s release tomorrow!!!

Supergroup Ghola released their first single (below) with an accompanying music video (above)! Featuring members of Crowning, Itto, Lord Snow, Stormlight, Oaktails, Frail Body, and Greed Worm, their debut 12”LP ‘Aeon’ releases September 28th and vinyl is in hand!

Vancouver’s Taking Tiger Mountain has their debut EP releasing October 23rd on Zegema Beach via cassette and cd! The band shares members with another sick local band named Often Wrong, but this band brings the chunkier, heavier screamo that Orchid, Shesmadefromsuede, and Grimlitter. Here’s a snippet of a video that I took last month.

NHOMME - 種の過音 (cassette)
from CA$20.00

NHOMME ‘種の過音‘ tape (ZBR314)

For fans of: Yarmulke, Hella, Sans Visage, Gauge Means Nothings, Nitro Mega Prayer, and 1000 Travels Of Jawaharlal

If you were worried that screamo was becoming stagnant or overly conventional then we present to you the new 3-song EP from Japan’s NHOMME. This new set of songs sets a very high bar for mathy/jazzy screamo with an emphasis on clean guitars, wild bass, playful drums, super high-pitched vocals, and dynamically mindboggling song structures. Not only is the music jaw-dropping, but the band created a music video showing the process used to make the cassette packaging (linked here) for the second track from this release. As a final cherry on top the tapes all come swirled, and in the rarer cases in swirled bags. Truly a one-of-a-kind release.

Cassettes 1st run: /146, 87 on black/white sparkle swirl (band edition), 44 pink swirl swirl (ZBR edition), 10 black/orange swirl in a swirled bag, and 5 test dips w/matching swirl case and swirled bag.

2nd run: /152, 95 on white/black sparkle swirl (band edition), 40 multi-color swirl, 10 purple sparkle swirl, 5 bandcamp to-go bag swirl, 4 test dips with matching swirl case, and 3 clear.

All tapes come in a clear/clear norelco case w/two-sided j-card and o-slipcover, all screened on recycled paper made by the band. 3 songs.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: GOBLINVIOLENCE = Absolutely wild shit from Australia. It sounds like the name implies and I fucking love it.

2026 - 9 - 11 /// Monterey 12"LPs release in a week!

Okay folks, almost all of the Big Stuff Thing has been sent out (except for the two orders with Nuvo merges as I’m awaiting a box with more copies that arrives next week, as well as anything with the Coup D’etat lathe which is expected in late September).

Monterey is next and it’s a fucking bombshell. Featuring members of Concealer and Rosemary Nods Upon The Grave, the band has their own wild flair but is definitely for fans of Brahm, Beau Navire, Empathetic, and the like with a bit of Portraits Of Past thrown in for good measure. This 12”LP releases on September 18th via ZBR and Third House. Jam a single below!

Senza, Rainmaking, and All That’s Left Of You made it onto last week’s Operation X-Ray episode from ultimate homie Andre. Radio show above, releases below!

Click here for the full premiere!

Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to the blue variant of Senza’s incredible ‘Celestial Body’ 12”EP. If anything I’d want to repress ‘Even a Worm Will Turn’ before doing this so don’t expect these back in stock anytime soon after selling out. Snag this blue first press below or forever hold your peace.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: BODY NEST = My friend Em from Foxmoulder showed me this band cuz they’re releasing it on the recently resurrected A Mountain Far Records! Seriously dope-ass shit from Toronto, kinda Closet Witch meets screamo!!!

2026 - 6 - 08 /// Zampler art submissions now open!!!

Just a quick reminder that the US store 40% off sale aka the “Liqui-Dave-tion” sale that is automatically applied to all orders will be active until Sunday June 14th at 9pm EST / 11pm CST / 12pm EST.

The big news from the past few days is that all upcoming Zamplers are open to art submissions! Starting right now you can go watch Starship Troopers (just the first one) and then check out the other Zampler covers and then cook up something sick that references the movie (and isn’t the same as a previous cover). Art submitted will be considered for the June 30th Zampler, with everything that isn’t chosen and comes after that date automatically will be considered for the next Zampler, and so on and so on as these things release every 6 months. You don’t need to include a Zampler # on the cover so just leave that open for when a # is chosen at a later date. You can email your submissions to zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com

And I feel the need to reiterate, all art MUST reference Starship Troopers or it doesn’t fit with the theme I’ve had going for more than 13 years. Jam #25 below with art from Jackson Schott!

I had Josh (A Recorded Dawn, Cadere, etc.) and Nima (Hillsboro, Wollruss) over to house for a Fest recap podcast as we reminisced about Vancouver’s 2026 ZBR Fest. Check it out above! I’ve included a few live videos below.

Cadere (formerly Mourn Recif) has two shows coming up with Ontario’s Constrain in Duncan this Friday and in Victora this Saturday. ZBR distro will be in hand. A teaser video of the band’s debut EP drops on Friday!

Following the Vancouver Island band’s new release ‘A Party in Your Name’ by my friends in Hillsboro, they also released a 13-minute video that acts as kind of a music video for a few jams. Very cool, artistic stuff! The tapes should finish this week and be in-hand next week. I also snagged some live videos from their Victoria release show that I’ll post next week.

Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to more super old releases, this one being Italy’s Lamantide. The EP ended up making me ask the band to participate in the 2x12” 8-way split. Very dark and heavy shit, like Converge on nightmare fuel. This 12” will not be repressed so snag this last copy (below) or forever hold your peace.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: CLAY BIRDS = Oh my god new Clay Birds. Hoorah!!!

2026 - 4 - 14 /// Dental Office Parking released!

Dental Office Parking 3”cds for ‘Water Park Tattoos’ just released! This quirky, sassy, genre-mash solo project from John (bassist of Usurp Synapse) features 12 tracks in just under 8 minutes. The cds arrive later this week so we’ll have promo pics once they arrive. Jam that brain-blast below!

Sungaze released a new video and song last week that you should scope. Wicked indie shoegaze with a touch of Southern rock. The records are done and the band is printing the massive zine that is included with all orders. Pre-orders still available below, these should ship mid-May.

Today’s Last Fucking Copy goes to one of the best EPs of the past few years, the almighty Shoganai debut EP. This had already been released on tape, but as we knew they’d sell out we asked if we could hop on the second run, to which they agreed. Then they came and were incredible at ZBR Fest. Hell yes. Snag it below or forever hold your peace.

In some great timing, Operation X-Ray played Gravess on their episode last Friday, and we just happen to have one last copy left. Snag it above!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: BRUSHBURN = This Pennsylvania band released this stellar debut last month!
