Massa Nera closed out Day 1 with a full set of their yet-to-be released LP that releases December 2nd, 2022 on Zegema Beach Records. It was incredible to experience it in full, with almost everyone in attendance hearing each song for the first time. Next post starts Day 2 of ZBR Fest Mid-West 2022 on June 12th, 2022, and thus concludes Day 1!

Operation X-Ray gave more screamo/skramz love on today’s episode and featured Gillian Carter, Campbell Trio, and Trophy Hunt.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: PET FOX = If you like Ovlov and the gorgeous shoegaze that spews from that band then I think you’d dig an offshoot called Pet Fox who sounds like a heavier version of Ovlov mixed with No Knife.

Co-released with Protagonist Music, the 12” vinyl contains a blazing-yet-controlled metallic hardcore/screamo fusion from members of You And I, Hell Mary, and The Assistant. Although the balance is obvious on all tracks, songs like “Objective Party” and “Afloat” really showcase an incredible ability to sustain melody and progression whilst retaining power and weight. Easily one of the best EPs of 2021.

Terry Green tapes are now live in the USA store! As the US box was delayed for two weeks, once we called all of a sudden it arrived the next day! Woot woot! This also means that all of the US Cara Neir copies can now ship cuz the inserts were sitting inside. Grab them by clicking on this text!

To Forget had a set that left most people with their jaws open. This band brought their debut LP and just floored everyone with their live rendition including the guitarist/vocalist bending over backward on the monitor. I’d say pick up a 12” but they’re all gone. 2021 - 12 - 25 /// A wee surprise

Well shit, it’s a little break before the storm hits December 27th and doesn’t let up until our 2-week vacation starting January 2nd, 2022. A quick recap and surprise for my few readers follows.

Campbell Trio ‘///’ cassettes are officially out in the wild and streaming/downloadable via our bandcamp page. Easily one of the best but also underrated albums of 2021, and is tied for CanaDave’s fave release of this year.

Ruhaeda art approved, cassettes will be ordered in January with a probable March/April release.

So what is actually releasing on December 27th? The final Meditations 4-way split 7” in the series of 5.

Next? A sick Tomb Tree Tapes release for an awesome Australian screamo band.

After? Zampler.

The following day? Ditch Organ on Tomb Tree.

And after that? Break. No shipping/no posts from January 3rd-16th.

2021 - 12 - 20 /// Zampler 18 is kicking my ass

ZBR camp is hella busy currently, as we’re running around finishing Zampler #18 to ship with order come January. CanaDave came to the realization that after Zaampler #20 there will be no more physical zamplers, only digital. It’s too much work. It’s too much money. It’s too much waste. We’ve also got four releases coming out between ZBR and Tomb Tree between now and Jan 1st! It’s gonna be fun!!!

Speaking of being busy, we’ve already finished about four tapes releases that won’t come out until 2022 and have made it a rule to cut out as many pre-orders as we can. So next year there might be like…one or two pre-orders, everything else we’re just gonna be hella patient with.

Campbell Trio’s ‘///’ cassette is the next release and was teased today on our Instagram. Variants and pics coming December 21st with a full release the following day on December 22nd, 2021.
