Big Stuff Thing #5 is half done, with the US store being gutted and only this Canada/International store has shit remaining (*we also ship to the US from this store). The rare screamo cds are back in there for the first time in months and almost all on sale for like $10CAD (that’s like $7US!), as are some discounted vinyl, advance/rare tapes, climaxing with handmades including nebulas and chromas! This Denton, Texas band turned our heads immediately upon hearing “Tearjerker” and being told that Seyarse was one of the band’s influences. The band’s 8 tracks hit on twinkly party emo (The Reptilian) and lighter-esque screamo (Terry Green), but contain an amalgamation very unique to the band (Wet Petals).

Amitie are good friends of ours and their trajectory in the realm of screamo has been nothing but jaw stretching. Their electric performance downstairs was fucking intense. In Loving Memory is back in action and had their full length remixed and remastered. Hooooooly moly does it sound incredible. It should release this month digitally (although we might wait until early June after we get them taaaaapes) with the cassettes being handled by Zegema Beach and Illuminate My Heart Records.

Featuring members of Utarid, Quantis, and Orbit Cinta Benjamin, the Malaysian screamowizards known as PIRI REIS finally unleash their debut 12”LP and by golly does it set a new standard for emo-violence. The tones on this record proudly display 2000s screamo of the Level Plane variety mixed with the unstable speed of German emo-violence to create a wildly entertaining listen through the 10 songs. 1st press was 250 copies on beautiful merge, but they sold out in the first day, so we made another 200 on splatter! Co-released with Moment Of Collapse, React With Protest, and Framecode Records. These WILL NOT stick around, sleeping not allowed.

So at a truly ungodly hour in the late night/earling morning of May 3rd, CanaDave begins his trek to the airport for Zegema Beach Records Fest 2023 and will not return until May 10th. What does this mean for you? Probably nothing! But if you planned on ordereing from the Canada/International store (aka this one) then you should know that all orders will go out on Tuesday May 2nd and then the store will not be shipping until my return on the 10th. May 10th also happens to be the release of ZMAR’s new 12”LP so if there are any outstanding orders I’ll obviously combine them and automatically refund you some shipping. Perhaps the biggest honor ever bestowed on Zegema Beach Records, the remixed version of ‘Innominate’ by the legendary jazzy screamo band OFF MINOR. Remixed by drummer/vocalist Steve Roach at Permanent Hearing Damage earlier this year, the eight songs sound better than ever. Whether it’s the bassy instrumental banger “Devil Ether”, the chaotic cornerstone “In SL” or epic closer “Family Circus”, every track on this album is exemplary and now even further refined.
