ZBR Fest 2027 Wave #1 was revealed last week to many-a-gasp. I am so excited to show you the final wave on November 2nd, 2026 at which time the tickets will go on sale. April 30th pre-show in Victoria and the main fest going down May 1st and 2nd at The Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver. It’s gonna be insane.

Also after a whopping 13 years I finally got some help to fix up the layout on this website. Erica Shultz, you are the best. You now have a search function as well as more concise layouts, easier to navigate homepage, a sick looking theme, etc.

My Softseed Music label is geared toward music like Magana, so releasing our third project together is immensely satisfying. This time it’s Jeni’s 2020 full length ‘you are not a morning person’ on black 12” lathes /20! Hella limited. Hella amazing. Straight up gorgeous and epic singer/songwriter material over 10 tracks, and remember I only use Little Elephant lathes which sound almost identical to vinyl, and would never put out anything with less quality.

The Athousandangelsandseven music video for “The Violence That Lived Inside You” is officially out on youtube and those mages sold out in like an hour. Just to clarify for those that were confused, the run is NOT out of 25, it is out of 335 but only 25 were put up for sale now. The remaining copies (200 black, 100 splatter, and 10 test presses…but minus band copies) will go up on the ZBR site upon the full release of ‘Every Day Is A New Hell’ on February 5th, 2027. Pre-order the digitals and check the tracklisting and guest spot - wowza!!!

Tomb Tree released the Boon double EP ‘Offer Your Arm + Thief’ on cassette last week and it’s such a wonderful collection of 8 tracks that overlap screamo, black metal, post-hardcore, post-rock and more! Cassettes are /55.

[Interviews] Coup D’etat came on the OMSB podcast for a second go! Their 7” lathes have all shipped out and likely landed at their destinations. I have like…3 copies left!

Taking Tiger Mountain was on the most recent Operation X-Ray episode, check it out! That self-titled EP releases in full October 23rd on 100 cds and 55 cassettes!!!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: NEGRVS = This awesome Mexican band released ‘Fábulas de una Noche Infinita’ and you should definitely check it out!
