Gold Coast, Australia’s BLIND GIRLS have been kicking screamo in the ass for the better part of a decade at this point, so it was only natural that band progress in another new way on their most recent ‘The Weight of Everything’. With a new lineup, the band has shed the prettier and “skramzier” side and opted for a darker, more visceral approach that will leave the listener gasping for breath. Prepare for pummeling ten times over across two popping variants. We also have some sets available if you missed out on their previous/incredible endeavor ‘Residue’ that include the black swirl paired with the coke-bottle variant of the new LP. 2nd pressing released on wax mage with No Funeral and Life.Lair.Regret Records!!!

The sophomore full length from Spain’s CROSSED is every bit as angry and disgusting as it’s predecessor, but the band implements a few different experimental injections that merge the sounds of crust, post-hardcore, and sludge. Still screamy as fuck and downright devastating, though. More gorgeous art and packaging from Rodrigo, with a stunning screened b-side. Right now two tracks are available but as of April 8th, 2022 all 10 jams will be in hand to punch you in the face.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: RHA. = This German band released my most overlooked 12”LP of 2019, an amazing work of post-rock, screamo, and metallic hardcore. Think Trainwreck meets City Of Caterpillar and Angel Eyes. Truly incredible.

2022 - 03 - 24 /// Crossed and Blind Girls tomorrow!

Tomorrow? Tomorrow…tomorrow…something is definitely happening tomorrow. Hmmmm…oh! I remember! We’re dropping two ridiculous albums on the same day!!! But why, you ask? Because the lord of skramz told us to. Very early in the morning on March 25th, 2022 will see the Crossed ‘Morir’ 12”LP pre-order (ships mid-April) and then at 12pm PST / 2pm CST / 3pm EST ‘The Weight of Everything’ 12”LP by Blind Girls goes up. A most excellent and also very silly day at Zegema Beach.

Speaking of Blind Girls, there was a final track premiere yesterday on the Not Just A Phase podcast that ZBR has also stained with our presence. An awesome hour and a quarter if you have the time. I can’t embed it for some reason but just click this text to go listen.

Okay. So. We have a lot of stuff coming out. A LOT. Like, we already have 5 releases in hand that we’re waiting on to release because we’d prefer to keep it to just two a month. We have about two to three releases arriving every month for the next three to four months. Most of these things are lower runs, with two exceptions including 500 12” records and a run of 250 tapes. You will also see the dwindling of co-releases in the near future as we attempt to avoid scheduling conflicts that are out of our control. This will also enable us to pretty much drop pre-orders altogether because in the end no one really wins with those. The Daves are very stoked on 2022!!!

Crossed just released another new single titled “Lágrima“ from their upcoming ‘Morir’ 12”LP that we’ll have pre-orders for in just two days (March 25th). This album is bonkers and looks incredible. We’ll only have 50 and they’ll sell out much faster than the debut!

This Denton, Texas band turned our heads immediately upon hearing “Tearjerker” and being told that Seyarse was one of the band’s influences. So we whipped up 103 pretty neat (if I do say so myself) cassettes across a few variants that include “The Bonnet”, “The Fedora”, and “Brain Sock”. The band’s 8 tracks hit on twinkly party emo (The Reptilian) and lighter-esque screamo (Terry Green), but contain an amalgamation very unique to the band (Wet Petals).

Tapes /103, 36 on “The Bonnet” swirl, 25 on “Brain Sock” golden/blue swirl, 32 “The Fedora“ blue, 5 mystery swirls, and 5 test dips, all w/double-sided j-card. 8 songs.
