Victoria on Vancouver Island is churning out some screamo as of late, as in addition to Coup D’etat you’ve got sibling bands Mourn Recif and A recorded Dawn teaming up for this split cd. These are Mourn Recif’s final songs with their original lineup as these three jams were recorded during their self-titled EP session. The songs are both aggressive and melodic, creating atmosphere before delving into their heavier sessions. These two new jams from A Recorded Dawn completely shed the emo/slowcore vibes of their early work and instead embrace dark, epic, atmospheric screamo in the vein of Ostraca, Process//Sleep, and Infant Island.
